Brendan Davis
Founder
Brendan Davis is an American writer, director, producer, and composer based in Paris, and the Founder of Malkuth Film—developing a slate of feature films that span multiple genres and international markets. With a strong background in independent production and extensive experience working across cultures, he specializes in character-driven stories that explore the complexities of human relationships, ambition, and identity.
Davis has been involved in films premiering, competing, or winning at Sundance HK, Toronto, Berlin, and other festivals. In 2013, he produced the first Los Angeles-based season of the Chinese TV hit Jia Pian You Yue (The Best), featuring Stan Lee, Justin Lin, M. Night Shyamalan, and others. Also active in documentary production, Davis wrote and directed the documentary Yibin: An Elemental Journey for CCTV in China, and co-wrote and produced the feature documentary Crazyhot with director Eric Raine, chronicling Raine’s five-year global exploration of the ultra-hot chili pepper world.
In addition to his projects at Malkuth Film, Davis is producing My Favorite Season, a feature film set in the world of Paris fashion, for writer-director Larry Sullivan and his company International Troublemakers. Davis is also in development on The Bishop’s Man, adapted from Lynden MacIntyre’s best-selling novel, with acclaimed filmmaker Babak Payami (752 Is Not A Number, Secret Ballot) attached to direct in Nova Scotia.
Davis’s work aims to balance artistic vision with commercial appeal, and his ability to bridge different markets and storytelling styles has allowed him to build strategic partnerships in the US, the UK, Canada, China, Italy, France, New Zealand, and beyond.
